Richmond and Wandsworth Councils have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager to join the Mental Health Commissioning team in the Adult Social Care and Public Health Directorate.
We are recruiting to: 
Senior Commissioning Manager- Mental Health 
The position will be well suited to innovative and motivated individual who is passionate about improving the opportunities and lives of people supported by Adult Social Care and have demonstrable experience in building effective teams and fostering positive relationships with providers and partners.
At the heart of our work is promoting the independence, choice, health and wellbeing of the local populations through strengths-based approaches. 
You will be responsible for leading an exciting programme of change that ensure the services offered provide value for money and deliver improved outcomes for the local populations across Richmond and Wandsworth. 
  • You and your team will review, plan and develop services, and develop stakeholder relationships managing the market supporting adults with mental health conditions. 
  • You will be able to offer extensive experience of commissioning and procuring services within the Public Procurement regulations.  
  • You will be responsible for co-designing innovative new service models and shaping the local provider market in a way that promotes the aspirations and ambitions of the people we support. 
  • You will have in depth knowledge of services supporting people with a mental health condition and/or autism and the governments agenda in relation to these areas. 
  • You will be highly motivated, creative, and persistent in seeking solutions and be open to learning from and with others and working with people to effect positive change. 
  • You will be tenacious and creative in working with local providers to ensure high quality and effective services are available that demonstrate value for money.
  • You will lead on the development of effective processes for the collection and presentation of social care marketplace information and intelligence on service needs, trends and identify gaps in provision to inform future strategic commissioning priorities.
The post holder will need to be confident in working with a range of internal and external partners to shape and deliver the local priorities including service users and their families and carers.
You will be able to negotiate and resolve complex problems and the ability to manage change well is a necessity. 
You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple strands of work within deadlines and enjoy being involved in a variety of activities and projects. 
You will have good communication and presentation skills, enjoy working with people and be able to lead and inspire your team.
