We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist who shares our values and commitment to improve the lives of our residents to fill a Senior Occupational Therapist post within our Occupational Therapy Service.
About the role
The role involves working with older people or younger adults with physical disabilities. It also supports hybrid working and will involve in person assessment in the community.
We are looking for someone with a keen interest to learn and innovate and a commitment to strength-based practice, as well as having experience of dealing with complex cases. Some but not limited to experience within: Assessing function, assessing care and support needs and providing equipment. Taking a strength-based approach, complex Moving and Handling as well as Awareness of DFG process, including minor and major adaptations recommendations
In this role you will provide operational and motivational leadership of staff as well as supervision and case management, guidance, support and expert advice to Occupational Therapy and social care staff.
You will also hold a small caseload of complex cases.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration
- Significant post-qualification experience in Adult Social Care or a statutory health setting.
- Experience of complex assessments, moving and handling, specialist equipment, and major adaptations/DFGs.
- Experience of supervising staff and managing complex cases.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act.
- Commitment to strengths-based practice and delivering positive outcomes for residents.
